Gocompare.com was launched in November 2006 by Hayley Parsons, one of the original members of confused.com. Gocompare.com was created to fundamentally change how quote comparison sites work, by introducing the ability to compare policy features, not just price.
Starting originally with car insurance his was shortly followed by breakdown cover, motorbike insurance, van insurance and most recently home insurance comparison.
The Go compare service is completely free to use and does NOT add a penny to the price of your insurance policy. You will find the same quote as Gocompare if you choose to go to the insurance company's site directly.
How does it work?
Why would you want to keep typing your quote details into ten or fifteen different websites to find the best cover? Why spend money trying to save money by ringing countless call centres that might not even be in the UK. Gocompare.com is different.
They have created an internet service where you enter your details only once, select the level of cover that you need and very quickly you will be presented with a selection of relevant quotes from which to choose.
